David Buckman

Dave Buckman has worked in the mortgage industry for well over 20 years and is best known for his willingness to share his extensive knowledge in financial matters for the benefit of his clients and friends. He has held a variety of managerial positions in the mortgage industry, including EVP-Regional Manager for one of the largest Mortgage companies in the country. Having been raised in a family of entrepreneurs, David, in 1994, elected to pursue a life-long ambition of building a company capable of serving the financial needs of its clients in a manner that suited David’s high standards for excellence.

While managing the growth of this company, David developed a trusted relationship with his clients by individually serving their unique needs. From clearly explaining the details to first-time homebuyers, to performing detailed return-on-investment analysis for seasoned investors. His team of professional partners, including realtors, accountants, financial planners, and contractors work closely with him to make sure the experience for each client includes a proper balance of debt management and wealth creation.

In December 2007, a chance discussion between two long-time business associates, who share similar business and life philosophies, became an idea whose time had come. David merged his company with the Mobium Mortgage Group, Inc., a rising industry leader in the mortgage and mortgage banking arena known for their superior client service system, and ability to serve multiple markets around the country.

With the back-office now in the hands of a very capable and talented support staff, David is now able to re-focus 100% of his energies on better managing a client’s ability to properly leverage the purchase of a home, and use that mortgage to build family wealth, rather than consume it! Recognizing the need for clarity and direction, David sees his role more as a teacher and strategic mortgage planner. Many homeowners fail to realize the impact their choice of a home loan will have on their investments, retirement, and monthly cash flow.

Different from most mortgage lenders, David sees his role as one of enhancing family wealth. He does this by integrating your mortgage with your personal financial plan. If designed properly, you will sit down at the “closing table” with greater confidence, clarity and control, knowing that your mortgage decisions are fully integrated with your financial road map.

Kim Burke
Mortgage Analyst

Kim is a mortgage industry veteran and has learned the business from the bottom up -- first as a processor, then as a sales assistant to a top producer, and next as a mortgage structure specialist.

Kim's broad mortgage experience and client-driven business philosophies led to the creation of Mobium's signature Client Care program, a hallmark of the Mobium client experience. Kim also developed the “MLB Playbook”; a resource providing Mobium Mortgage Planners and Analysts with step by step protocol and scripts for funding a deal under a variety of scenarios from initial client contact to post closing surveys ensuring the Mobium brand of service is honored in each transaction.

Outside of the office, Kim enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends in the city. Kim loves Chicago for its beauty and vitality, and enjoys city living in Lincoln Park with her husband, Rob, their beautiful daughter, Piper, and their Bassett Hound, Flash








Voka Mankenda
Sr. Loan Processor

Voka supports a team of Mobium Mortgage Planners on processing and approving loans, with great ease, for Mobium clients in a professional and courteous manner.

Prior to Mobium, Voka's mortgage career ignited in 2003 where he crafted his passion for finance initially as an auditor, and soon after transitioned into the position of Sr. Loan Processor. With his enthusiasm and determination for success and client satisfaction he excelled, soon earning a nomination for Best Processor in the state of IL 2005 by the IAMB.

Having always been a person of forward momentum, Voka brings to Mobium a drive for success and zeal for action. Voka's easy going, focused, and determined personality attracts clients who like his great attitude and positive outlook. He looks forward to the personal and career growth opportunity at Mobium.

A native of Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo Voka, Mankenda attended DePaul University where he studied finance.

Off the clock, Voka enjoys working out and learning to fly airplanes. He is also working on his golf game, and genuinely enjoys the process of learning. Voka speaks three different languages fluently French, Spanish and Lingala and has a fine appreciation for action and drama movies.

Shelly Schwyn
Closing Manager

Shelly Schwyn has been in the mortgage industry for over a decade and has earned the title mortgage guru, because of her extensive operational working knowledge of the business from top to bottom. Early on in her career Shelly served as an integral part of an operational start up team for one of today's top broker/banker corporations in the city of Chicago. She continued to expand her mortgage operations knowledge and capabilities by being promoted to Operations Manager with yet another top Chicago mortgage brokerage organization.

With a proficient background in mortgage operations and her strong ability and passion for working one on one with clients, Shelly began working in loan originations and processing and in 2005 she became part of the Mobium Mortgage team. "I wanted to get back to what I truly love; direct client interaction and developing that one on one service rapport. Working with clients makes working fun for me," she relays.

Shelly enjoys working with the Mobium team, "I have worked with most of the Mobium team members throughout my professional career in one capacity or another and I am excited about being part of a company that focuses on long term client service, which comes from a core foundation of integrity and pride. Being at Mobium feels like being at home".

Out of the office, Shelly & Stella-a one-year-old beagle/dachshund mix-enjoy the lake, located two blocks from her north side condo. Shelly enjoys dining out and experiencing Chicago's hidden, eclectic restaurants with casual or fancy fare. "I love Chicago and could not imagine hanging my hat anywhere else."
